So, apropos to nothing in this blog, I dreamt last night that Burke hired, of all people, Chris Pronger to be our GM. For some reason, to do this required Pronger having to trade a draft pick to the Flyers for himself. As well, Pronger immediately decided that he wanted a player-coach – so, no guy in a suit behind the players, but an actual player as the coach. Rather than firing Hartley, he instead made him suit up for the games. Also, he forced Dustin Penner onto the player-coaching staff for some inexplicable reason. For entertainment's sake, I hope this happens just not here. I would prefer Burke and Pronger try this experiment out on some other team. Also, I think I may be going crazy and should lay off the sports for a while... |

I would have liked the 1st overall pick but 4th is not bad either. My personal rankings for picking at #4.
Ekblad
Reinhart
Bennett
Draisaitl
I think any of these guys makes the Flames better in areas they need to improve on.
If we could pick up another 1st round pick I would love to get any of these guys.

My first question is, how much did you drink before hitting the sheets? |

Sorry my friend, but in every which way that I assessed the matchup, the Rangers come out on top for me. Maybe Mason surprises everyone and stands on his head, silencing the goalie woes in Philly. Maybe. |

A beer with dinner, that's it. Kind of scary that these are my sober dreams... |

Larsson sucks, I'm actually glad the devils won the lotto that year and prevented us from drafting him |

Well, Mason is out for the first game, that much we know. I know most people think NY will win, but I have a feeling our depth is going to shine. Like I said in other posts, we just one win in NY and we'll win this series. |

My only disagreement is with your Ranger pick. I think the Flyers have a great mix for the playoffs...maybe even a decent run if they can get some Goaltending. |

No love for Ehlers? - Danformo
Ehlers fits the skill set that is already in a few of the Flames LW Prospects. Plus I wonder how much Drouin is responsible for padding his goals. Honestly I have no idea as I have not watched him personally to see his on ice skills. I also realise that Nylander and Kapanen fall in that same category but I am mostly banking on thier NHL Bloodlines to rank them on my list. |

I don't understand how Brad Richards doesn't put up better numbers. He has not been the same since his concussion in Dallas. I thought with him, Nash and guys like Stepan and Brassard that their top 6 would be more of an offensive threat. |

Watching Ehler highlights, he plays the same back door spot as Gaudreau on the powerplay. Good passer and shooter. Patient. A few years away though, looks weak. |
